High-carbon ferrochrome can be used to smelt stainless steel, so what are the advantages of using it to smelt stainless steel?
1) The alloying agent used in tool steel, ball steel and ball steel with relatively high carbon content can improve the hardenability of steel to a certain extent, and further increase the wear resistance and hardness of steel. In addition, when casting iron, high-carbon ferrochrome is used as an additive, which can help improve the hardness and wear resistance of cast iron, thereby improving the heat resistance of cast iron. Furthermore, the main raw material used for medium, low and micro-carbon ferrochrome, and the chromium-containing raw material used to produce metallic chromium by electrolysis is also high-carbon ferrochrome.
2) The construction cost of high-carbon ferrochrome is low, which is suitable for the transformation of existing equipment. Compared with the traditional method, due to the largest furnace volume ratio, after increasing the oxygen supply strength, the Q345CH steel blowing time is controlled within half an hour. The detachable furnace bottom with ruler saves refractory materials and maintenance time, and the cost is higher. A large selection of charge materials can be used to replace the relatively expensive low- and medium-carbon ferrochrome with the cheapest high-carbon ferrochrome, and a large amount of carbon scrap is used. Appropriately increase the nitrogen content in steel and reduce the use of oxidized iron alloys. Each increase of 0.1 nitrogen content by the ruler method can reduce the nickel content by 2 without affecting the mechanical properties of stainless steel.
